The Museum of America in Madrid was created in 1941. It initially functioned as a room of the Archaeological Museum, but the amount of objects and collections that were added made it to have its own headquarters in 1965.
The Museum of America’s collection consists of more than 25,000 objects. The Museum houses and exhibits at the same time pre-Columbian, ethnographic and viceregal pieces and its collections continue to increase today.
