The National Museum of Natural History of Madrid was established in 1771 by the King Carlos III. Since then, it has changed its name several times. The Museum is devoted to the preservation, research and promotion of science and natural diversity.
The Museum participates in several research projects, of special relevance is that of Atapuerca (Atapuerca archeological site). Its permanent, temporary and itinerant exhibitions let us come closer to a fascinating world of plants, minerals, animals, tools and materials of different times, as well as art works such as paintings and water-colors.
It is one of the favorite museums for tourists in Madrid and for every Madrid citizen who wants to spend a family day and broaden his/her knowledge about science.
