We are two Italian teachers from a school in Legnano (Milan – Italy) and the first week of July we lived a fantastic experience with Tandem in San Lorenzo de el Escorial. We stayed in the monastery, a wonderful and historic place, which will always remain in our hearts. Our students, aged between eleven and fourteen, had the opportunity to practice and improve their Spanish in the classrooms of the Real Colegio Alfonso XII during the interesting and fun classes of Ana and Charo, Tandem’s qualified teachers. The course was appropriate to the age and knowledge of the children. It was also very stimulating and helpful.
The rich cultural programme and the Tandem guides allowed us to get to know many aspects of Spanish life and culture: the visits to the Royal Monastery of El Escorial, the centre of Madrid, the Prado Museum and the Reina Sofia Art Centre, the flamenco class, the typical dinner and the many other activities proposed enriched our week in an extraordinary way. Above all we have to thank Begoña, a wonderful person, the director of Tandem, who was helpful and competent and accompanied us with her advice and help in every aspect of our trip, making it such a special and unforgettable experience.
