We present an activity based on the popular TV game show Pasapalabra. For those of you who do not know it, it is a game of definitions. You play with all the letters of the alphabet, a person reads the definitions and the player has to guess what the word is. If he/she doesn’t know, he/she says “pass word”.
The goal of the activity is to practice relative clauses while practicing compensation strategies.
Instructions: We divide the class into two or more teams and divide the cards between them. First they will have to complete the sentences with relative pronouns, rewriting the sentences or inventing the definitions themselves. Then the quiz begins. One member of the opposing team will ask the questions to the other until they miss a word, at which point the roles are switched. If you want to add some excitement, you can use a timer and set a time limit.
You can play it using the form below, or download it to your computer (Spanish) to print it and play it with your colleagues later.
We hope you like it!
