1. Take a stroll around one of the parks
Madrid has many parks and green areas. Madrid has one million and a half trees in its parks giving oxygen to the city. Of these, the most emblematic and well-known is El Retiro Park, Madrid’s green lung, our particular central park. This historic garden and public park proudly shows architectural, sculptural and landscape works from the 17th to the 21st centuries and covers an area of 118 hectares. What better plan for this fall than to take a walk through the park and see the leaves fall from the trees?
2. Visit an exhibition

3. Visit Madrid’s markets
Madrid is famous for its markets, those fashionable places where you can enjoy a picturesque atmosphere and taste a good tapa. Some of the best markets in Madrid are San Miguel market, an iconic market located next to the Puerta del Sol. The market of San Antón, in the modern neighborhood of Chueca. With 3 floors, this market offers a great gastronomic variety for all tastes and budgets. Or the San Ildefonso market, the most modern, with smaller stands and bohemian innner courtyards.
4. Enjoy the drive-in cinema
During summer, it is possible to enjoy movies outdoors in one of the capital’s many summer cinemas. When the fall comes, the drive-in cinemas are the best option. The drive-in cinemas are an original concept that feels straight out of a Hollywood movie and in which people can enjoy movies from their own car. Located between Fuencarral and Chamartín neighborhoods, it has a capacity for more than 300 cars.
5. Get to know the most beautiful bookstores
Although technology is here to stay, there is nothing like the smell and texture of a paper book. Some of the dream-like bookstores in Madrid where we can get lost are la Librería Bardón (Bardón Bookstore), founded in 1947 and which makes us feel like in a Harry Potter movie. La Infinito Café Libros, a bookstore and a place to eat and even have a drink if you feel like it. Read some of its incredible books and even see a micro-theater play!
