Real Madrid 4 – Levante 2, with a Ronaldo hat-trick. We were lucky enough to witness that historic event last February, when Madrid pulled 10 points clear from Barcalona in La Liga. But even after such a fantastic spectacle, the match at the Bernabeu was by no means the highlight of our trip. Of course, it’s difficult to pick the highlights out of our incredible experience in Madrid, but I’ll give it a go.
The lessons at Tandem were superb, and the innovative and fun approaches that Ruben and Gemma took when teaching us meant that there was never a dull moment. We all whole-heartedly agreed that they were ‘the best Spanish lessons we’ve ever had’, and the vast range of vocabulary we picked up was brilliant. The lessons ranged from writing love poems about sandwiches to improvising stories whilst making imaginary cocktails.
On top of this, we were able to soak in all the culture of Spain. Ruben gave us a walking tour of Madrid, revealing all the hidden secrets of the city, and gave us an insight into the fascinating history of Spain. We also visited the Museo del Prado and the Reina Sofia to experience some of the fantastic art of Spain. Goya 4 –Dali 0. Not only that, we can now all rival Spain’s top chefs in tapas and paella, thanks to the brilliant cookery classes that Tandem organised for us.
All in all, a fantastic school, and a fantastic experience. Thanks to everyone!
