Elmhurst College (Chicago) is one of the North American universities that periodically visits Madrid and the classrooms of TANDEM ESCUELA INTERNACIONAL. This year the group consisted of 16 students who attended an intensive Spanish course in the mornings and in the afternoons participated in a cultural programme and leisure activities specially designed for them: visits to museums, Spanish cooking class (paella), walks and cultural gymkhanas, excursions to Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial… For some of them it was their first time in Europe and Spain and they enjoyed getting to know a new culture so different from their life in the United States. They also made the most of their Spanish classes and had the opportunity to put into practice everything they had learnt in the TANDEM exchanges and with the host families they stayed with during their stay in Madrid.
