DELE certificates are probably the most widely known Spanish diplomas in the world. They can be very useful for getting a job, studying at a Spanish university or applying for Spanish citizenship..
Supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education, they are internationally recognized and are an official guarantee of Spanish language skills at the approved level of the Diploma, from A1 to C2 levels, according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
The prestige of DELE certificates is such that in many countries educational centers and authorities offering regulated training even use them as a complement to their Spanish assessment programs.
Beginning the 14th of November, 2018 any person interested in obtaining one of the Instituto Cervantes Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) can enroll in the exams that will take place throughout 2019. Seize the opportunity to officially accredit your level of Spanish!
What are the DELE exams?
The tests depend on your level of knowledge of the Spanish language, starting with lower requirements for levels A1-B2, and increasing in difficulty to the most demanding C2 level.
Moreover, DELE A1-B2 exams evaluate reading and listening comprehension along with basic oral and written expression. In the case of the DELE C1 exam, the use of the language and integrated skills such as oral and written interaction are added to the above competencies. The DELE C2 exam also evaluates integrated skills in language use, reading and listening comprehension and written and oral expression and interaction.
In terms of the type of tests to be passed, all examinations consist of two parts: a written examination and an oral expression and interaction test, which may be taken on the same or different days, depending on the schedule of the official center conducting the examination.
How can I pass the DELE exam?
Although the general tests are designed for people over the age of 16 whose mother tongue is different from Spanish, there are also specific shifts for school students.
The only additional requirement is the registration fee must be paid within the official deadline for each application date (you can check the dates in our DELE section).
Registration can be done in two ways: from the DELE website of the Instituto Cervantes or through the center where you want to take the exam, such as TANDEM Madrid, providing the corresponding documentation.
How to prepare for the DELE?
You will achieve better results if you have the help of professionals to prepare for the exam.
At TANDEM Madrid we offer preparation courses for the DELE exams, both in person (individual, in a group or combined) and online (with DELE simulation tests you can take at home and weekly Skype tutorials with your tutor).
Another good way to prepare for the test is the DELE resources of the Instituto Cervantes, which you can use to practice on your own or as a complement to the resources provided by TANDEM teachers. On their website, you will find sample answer sheets, sample exams, and DELE exam guides.
What are the dates for the 2019 DELE exams?
The dates of the exams vary depending on the level of the DELE diploma and the type of registration (general or for school groups). On our website, you will find all the information about the dates of the DELE 2019 written exams..
